About
About EuroCarIndex
Free used-car asking-price statistics across Europe, with import-cost calculators, methodology and contact details.
Car prices belong to everyone.
Free, independent asking-price data for every buyer in Europe — not just the big platforms.
EuroCarIndex shows what used cars are listed for across European borders, and what a car from another country costs once it is registered at home.
Why
The same car is often listed for very different prices in different EU countries. Simple comparisons of those prices mislead, because they ignore VAT and the registration taxes some countries charge. EuroCarIndex puts the market price and the landed cost side by side.
What we publish
- Price statistics for Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Austria, the Netherlands and Belgium: medians, typical ranges and the number of cars, by model, country, year and mileage, updated daily.
- A like-for-like index that compares the same cars across countries.
- An import-cost calculator for all supported EU destinations, with the legal basis for every tax and official fee.
- A listing check and a Dutch number-plate lookup that feed the calculator.
Principles
- Statistics only. No listings, dealer names or listing photos. Every figure meets the publishing rules in the methodology.
- Free to read and to cite. Link to the page you used, or embed a chart from any model page. Journalists and researchers can ask for data.
- Real cars, credited. Car photos come from Wikimedia Commons under free licences; each names its photographer and licence, and number plates are pixelated. Brand names and logos belong to their owners; EuroCarIndex is independent.
- No cookies and no accounts.
