Used cars cheaper abroad than in Portugal
Models whose dealer asking price in another EU country is lower than in Portugal for the same mix of registration years, mileage bands and fuels. Prices are as advertised, with that country's VAT where it applies (listings whose tax basis is unclear are left out). Portuguese ISV, any Portuguese VAT due on the purchase and transport are not included, so a gap is not a saving. Each country is compared with Portugal on the groups both publish, which can differ from one country to another.

How it is worked out: for each model and country we take the groups (registration year × mileage band × fuel) with a published median both in Portugal and in that country, weight each group by how common it is across the eight countries, and compare the two weighted prices. Listed only for gaps of 5% or more, on groups that hold at least 15% of the model's cars.
